Items
The only item requirement for partaking in this quest is to ensure you have Necromancy combat gear.
Though we have a few recommendations to guarantee success, a Powerburst of acceleration and some food will be an excellent addition to your inventory when you tackle the quest.
Enemies to Defeat
With this quest, you'll be facing Hermond, the Spirit of War. He is the lieutenant of Rasial and was born of the unending conflict of the God Wars.
Now that we've got the requirements and foe under wraps let's move on to the quest itself!
Starting the RS3 Spirit of War Quest
To kick off this quest, speak with Kharen in the City of Ums' northwest corner. You will find her by her gondola, which you wish her to ferry you on, telling her you're ready to face Rasial in his citadel. However, she will inform you the price of the ride is four Obols. To gain these books, you'll need to speak with Ed in the boat tours shed; head northeast of your current location and find him.
Speak with Ed and rent a rowboat, then use the rowboat to guide wayward souls who are wandering the lake. You can find the four souls needed at the four points of the lake: northeast, northwest, southeast, and southwest. When you've rescued the souls required, return to one of the docks within the city or teleport.
Provide Kharen with the obols, and ensure you have all of your requirements ready, as once you embark on this journey, a fight will be at the end of the road.
The Battle at the Citadel
When you arrive, Rasial will be waiting for you; he will mock your efforts. Stating you're too late to stop the rising of his army and too early to defeat him all at once.
It's at this point in the RS3 Spirit of War,Rasial suggests you battle his phantom bodyguard to prove your worth. Here is when Hermod comes into play; fortunately, this battle is in story mode, so it should prove too difficult.
After defeating Rasial’s henchman, Rasial himself will state he is impressed by your accomplishment, but he still does not believe you are ready to face him just yet. His suggestion is that you study the work of Duke Orcus, as well as those of the Necrolords of Daemonheim, stating this will increase your strength and encourage your want for knowledge from Death.
As a final parting gift, Rasial informs you he will order Angurvadal not to bother the city for now. After all is said and done, he will teleport out. And that's that! You completed the RS3 Spirit of War quest!
