The Limitations of the New RS3 Max Cash Update
The main limitation of this new update is that your inventory and bank remain the same. The new max cash limitations do not apply to your inventory or back, so you won't be able to hold 2,147 quintillion Shards in them. However, this shouldn’t really be a problem as you still hold all of the currency in your pouch and can use that at a moment's notice. So far, we have not seen how this would pose any problems, but in reality, RuneScape is very complex, and we would have to observe the new dynamics that occur in regard to trading and inventory management to make any final judgments.
During the Update
Just a few days before the update was set to launch, Jagex gave us some information to look out for that might be useful for you to know if you haven't got the update yet. Jagex has since tweeted out:
“RuneScape game update Monday 12 June - all worlds will be unavailable for up to 30 minutes due to the complexity of the update - apologies in advance for the XP waste!”
So, this should be something to be aware of if you have not updated your game yet. Some players have opted not to log on today once the update is done for fear of complications happening amid all the changes. However, there is generally nothing to worry about, and the worst thing that can happen is that the worlds are unavailable for a short while.
Preparing to Launch the RS3 Max Cash Update
In consideration of the massive numerical difference this update is making to the game, the developers have said that they have encountered numerous technical difficulties in getting this update out - but will do so very soon. In the meantime, the devs have said that they will not be manually editing any prices as that will prove to be unnecessarily complex in lieu of things. Rather, they will be observing the mid-price range of multiple max integer items to see whether a stable price emerges soon, then update accordingly. It is expected that extremely high-value items such as the party hat will change in their price because of the new afforded flexibility in trading and using the grand exchange.
