Firemaking in Old School RuneScape can be slow and click-intensive.
Here are the main methods to do it:
The Forester's Campfire feature is perfect for AFK firemaking. This method allows you to add logs to a campfire and gain XP over time.
- Find or create a permanent fire
- Right-click and select the "Add logs" option
- Select the type of logs you want to use
- Sit by the fire to gain passive Firemaking XP
You can add multiple logs at once, giving you many minutes of AFK time. Higher-level logs give more XP but burn faster. If you need gold to buy better logs, you can buy OSRS gold from trusted vendors like Chicks Gold.
Another method is Wintertodt.
It's a Firemaking boss that offers good XP rates with less active clicking:
- Travel to the Wintertodt camp (northeast of Great Kourend)
- Join a Wintertodt game
- Cut bruma roots and light the brazier
- Heal when needed and repair the brazier if broken
- Collect your rewards after the round ends
Between rounds, you get about 1-2 minutes of downtime. The XP rates are much better than regular firemaking, and you can get valuable rewards.
Before starting either method, make sure you have the right tools. For Wintertodt, you need warm clothing to reduce damage.
It's important to know what OSRS items you should patch, as keeping your gear repaired will save you money in the long run.
