Chicks Gold is once again back to bring you the latest and greatest in the gaming world! Excitingly, this article covers a brand new Old School RuneScape quest, allowing our readers to sink their teeth into the action effectively immediately! The new Children of the Sun quest in OSRS entered the game on January 10th and is the first step to be taken in the Twilight Emissaries series, opening up players to a new world of adventure.
Let's first take a look at what this quest is about:
What's the Story Behind OSRS Children of the Sun?
This quest marks the introduction of the Kingdom of Valamore, often referred to as the Shining Kingdom. Within the quest, a delegation from Varlamore has arrived in Varrock to mark the historical signing of a treaty with the rulers of Misthalin.
Unfortunately, there are some strange goings-on, which leads to you uncovering a nefarious plot that has been devised to postpone or put an end to the treaty together; it then becomes your job to find out exactly what is going on and put a stop to it. So, let's get onto some of the more precise details, such as requirements.
Children of the Sun Requirements OSRS
Many of our readers will be pleased to know that as this quest is the gateway to a whole new quest series, there are no requirements. There is no need to level up, gather items, and, best of all, no enemies ahead! Instead, you can focus your efforts on finding a solution for the parties involved in the treaty.
We don't have any further recommendations for our readers either, as this is a truly laid-back adventure; now, let's get onto the walkthrough.
Children of the Sun OSRS - Getting the Adventure Underway
The first thing you'll need to do to get Children of the Sun OSRS going is speak with either Noah or Alina at the eastern side of Varrock Square, behind Eliza's stall. They will tell you that a delegation is on its way from the Kingdom of Varlamore to Varrock after their long-lasting period of isolation. Make use of the dialogue available and ask questions regarding the kingdom; ask when the delegation will arrive if you want to speed things up, as this will bring about a cutscene.
When the cutscene plays, you will be shown King Roald and Aeonisig Raispher being approached by the delegation, compromising of Prince Itzla Arian, Servius, Treokan of Ralos, Furis Tully's, Ennius Tully's, and six of the Knights of Varlamore.
During this time, a guard ferrying a large sack is seen leaving the outer walls of Varrock Palace. His superior, Sergeant Tobyn, allows him to leave, but something about his anxious demeanor leads you to be suspicious, so follow him.
Investigating the Guard
The guard will exit Varrock heading southeast and will periodically check behind him, so you'll need to duck behind buildings to avoid being spotted. If you get caught, you'll need to go back to speak with Noah and start Children of the Sun OSRS again.
The map we have included below will show you the correct route; the indicated areas are where you will hide before resuming the investigation; to make it that bit easier for our readers, here is a list of the areas where you must hide:
- Run inside the Lowe's Archery Emporium
- Duck behind the northern wall of the building south of the archery shop.
- Walk to the southeast corner of the building.
- Hide behind Old Man Yarlo's house in the west wall.
- Hide inside Old Man Yarlo's house or near the south building of Aubury's Rune Shop.
When you hide in the final spot, the suspicious guard will then enter the small building beside Aubury's Rune Shop, and the second OSRS Children of the Sun cutscene will begin.
Within this cutscene, you will see the guard actually belonging to a group of bandits that plan on attacking the delegation on their journey back to the Shining Kingdom. Once the scene has been completed, head back to Varrock Square and speak with Sergeant Tobyn. He will then ask you to identify the four bandits; do so by selecting the "mark" option on each of them.
Where to Find the Bandits?
The first of the bandits in Children of the Sun OSRS can be found right outside Ari's tent. You'll see him standing with his hands on his hips and no weapon in hand.
The second of the group can be found near Benny at his newsstand. She will be noticeable as she is not wearing a helmet.
The third bandit can be found directly outside of Lowe's Archery Emporium on the eastern path. He will be leaning on a wall, arms crossed, and once again, no weapon on his person.
You will find the fourth along the eastern path between Varrock's east bank and the Archery shop. This bandit will have a weapon, but it will be a mace instead of a sword.
Interrogating the Suspects
Once you have successfully identified all of the bandits, head back to Sergeant Tobyn and speak with him. He will then promptly arrest the suspects off-screen; you will then be taken to the cell on the palace roof, where you must assist with the interrogation.
Next, in the Children of the Sun quest OSRS, Prince Itzla unexpectedly makes an appearance, as he is bored with politics, and after hearing the commotion, he makes his way to the roof. He will then introduce himself and decide to assist with the interrogations.
This will prompt a cutscene to play, showing Prince Itzla questioning one of the four bandits, with you providing backup. The bandit will crumble in no time, offering up their plan. He states he and his companions were approached by an anonymous figure, suspected to be from Varlamore, and asked to kill Servius, Trojan of Ralos.
Following the successful interrogation, Prince Itzla will thank you for your part in preventing the assassination of Servius. He will grant you access to visit the Kingdom of Varlamore once they are ready for visitors. He will state he hopes to see you soon in the future, and that marks the end of a successful quest!
OSRS Rewards: Children of the Sun
